5/28 Training

Yet another great evening for training out at Metro!

Training 5/27

Training for May 27 is on as scheduled. Thanks!

Summer Session 1

There are still times available for Summer Session 1 slated to begin the week of June 7. While Wednesday evenings are no longer available, there are still time slots available on Monday evening, Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. Other times/days are available upon request.

Sessions that have been scheduled so far touch on topics such as turning up field, passing under pressure, finishing, crossing, 1v1 defending and  many others. Sessions are diagrammed to fit the needs of those who enroll and not only help the participant to learn great technique, habits and ideas, but are also fun.

If you are interested in setting up a training day and time, please contact the PTP Director Chris Hamburger at chamburger@slsgsoccer.com. If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ section for frequently asked questions, the Training Prices section for pricing information, the Policies section for the PTP policies and Overview section for a general overview of the program.

Nike: Write the Future

Take a look at this video. I think it's done extremely well and parts are pretty amusing.

Enjoy!

5/20 - Training Moved to Vetta Sports

Seeing as it has been raining all day and looks as if it'll be doing more of the same around 6, we'll be moving training to Vetta Sports in O'Fallon, IL (590 Hartman Lane O'Fallon, IL  62269). We'll be on field 1 for all three sessions.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get a hold of me prior to 4:15. Thanks.

5/13: 6:30 Training Postponed

The 6:30 Precision Training practice has been postponed. I'll be rescheduling in the next day or two.

Thanks.

Training 5/13: 1:30 pm

Training IS on. It's amazing how the forecast can change so drastically in such little time.

Hopefully this one is a bit more accurate than it was earlier.

See you all out on the pitch.

Training: 5/13 6:30 am

It's 6:30 am and the weather is looking a little nasty, but please make sure to keep checking back for updates regarding training this evening.

If the Metro Complex isn't open tonight due to wet conditions, I'll begin working on rescheduling all trainings from this evening.

Thanks.

Great Article

Although this article is unrelated to soccer, this is a piece about a duel sport athlete (football and baseball) at Villanova who chose to miss a portion of his baseball season (he's leading his team and is second in the Big East with a .435 batting average) so he could donate bone marrow to help save a 19 month-old girl's life.

Update: Policies Section Added

The "Policies" section has just been updated. Please see the sidebar for the link. Thanks!

Blog Use

Good morning!

I want to take a moment to quickly let all of you know what the purpose is of having this blog. First and foremost it's designed as an information site to allow you to look in to program specifics (cost, policies, etc.) but also to ask any questions in a public forum that you may have. If you have anything you'd like to ask, don't hesitate to "Comment" on any of the articles of information posted. It's easy to assume your question is most likely one somebody else will ask at some point, so making the question and answer public will hopefully alleviate any confusion.

Overview

The St. Louis Scott Gallagher Precision Training Program (PTP) provides an exciting new opportunity to become a better soccer player and teammate for those in the SLSG family. Individuals and small groups can sign up for five sessions spanning an hour a piece that focus specifically on the needs of those registered.

Training Plan

Each training plan is created by Coach Hamburger and is designed to help the individual(s) to address a specific need.

Copies of each session will be available for participant review prior to each session. This helps to cut down time that would be spent within the session explaining the exercise.
